The ISC2 Sydney Chapter is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting the professional development of cybersecurity practitioners across the region.
Introduction
As part of the global ISC2 community, our Chapter provides a platform for networking, knowledge sharing, and leadership development within the cybersecurity domain.
There are currently several ISC2 local chapters established across Australia, including Melbourne, Queensland, Western Australia and Canberra, forming a growing national network of cybersecurity professionals. Sydney Chapter aims to deliver enriched learning, joint events and broader industry engagement.

Objectives of the Chapter
- Deliver opportunities for members to earn Continuing Professional Education (CPE) credits for ISC2 certification renewal.
- Promote ISC2’s mission, code of ethics, and values within the Sydney and broader Australian cyber community.
- Provide a local platform for members to build a network of peers to share knowledge and exchange resources.
- Invite professionals from various sectors to share cybersecurity knowledge and insights, fostering cross-industry learning and practical knowledge transfer.
Key Membership Benefits
Earn CPE Credits
- Attendance at Chapter-hosted webinars, workshops, and events is eligible for claiming CPEs.
- Participation in Chapter operations or volunteering activities is eligible for claiming CPEs.
Early Event Access and Free Ticket
- Event notifications 5 days before public announcements on LinkedIn and other channels.
- Free tickets to regular cybersecurity events hosted by the Chapter.
Networking and Collaboration
- Access to a members-only WhatsApp group to connect, discuss, and collaborate with fellow professionals.
- Join a growing network of cybersecurity practitioners across industries.
Community Engagement and Volunteering
- Members are encouraged to volunteer in Chapter-led events and outreach initiatives, helping promote cybersecurity awareness at the local level.

Membership Fee and Renewal
- The annual membership fee is billed on 1 January each year, covering the full calendar year (January–December).
- Members who join or renew before 1 January are eligible for early payment benefits, including discounted rates on selected training courses offered by our authorised training partners throughout the year. For details of available discounts, please refer to the latest Training Guideline.
- Members who join after 1 January may do so at any time; however, the membership will still cover only the remaining period of that calendar year and will expire on 31 December of the same year.
- To be eligible for membership, applicants must primarily reside in Sydney, Australia. By submitting an application, the applicants confirms that Sydney is their major place of residence. All membership fees are non-refundable and contribute directly to supporting Chapter operations, events, and community initiatives.
- Student Membership applications must be submitted using a valid TAFE or university-issued email address. By applying under this category, the applicant confirms they are currently enrolled in an accredited tertiary institution and understand that eligibility may be subject to verification.
